- Field-Coil Technology — Reimagined :- At the heart of the SON is a current-controlled field-coil driver, powered by an external constant-current supply instead of a traditional magnet. This ensures a highly stable magnetic field, delivering lower distortion, faster transients, and more natural dynamics. The included fourth-generation Wolf von Langa power supply is engineered for absolute driver control and lifelike musical flow.
- Precise, Full-Bodied Low & Midrange :- The custom 11-inch German-built field-coil driver uses a lightweight cone and underhung voice coil for exceptional speed and control. A rear passive radiator extends bass response cleanly and quietly, producing deep, articulate low frequencies from a compact cabinet.
Open, Spacious High Frequencies :- A custom Mundorf Air Motion Transformer (AMT) dipole tweeter delivers airy, detailed highs with a wide, three-dimensional soundstage. Its adjustable top-mounted design allows precise time alignment and seamless integration.
Easy System Matching :- With 94 dB sensitivity and an 8-ohm load, the SON works effortlessly with low-power tube amps, solid-state designs, and Class A or SET amplifiers, delivering large-scale sound with modest power.
